Chest). 1849. Delteil/Strauber 25i (of iii). Softground etching
and roulette on tan China paper, mounted on white wove, 212
x 280 mm (8 3/8 x 11"), plus small margins. A
fine, velvety impression, rare in the first state, before
publication in L'Artiste.
Provenance: Marcel Louis Guérin (Lugt 1872b).
This is Delacroix's only softground etching, and the last
etching he made.
